IT’S TIME

Sunday Sermon Take Away:  “IT’S TIME”  –  Chuck

Living in this time can feel a little like Elisha’s servant going out early in the morning and seeing an army with horses and chariots surrounding the city.  Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.”  I can hear Michael W. Smith singing in the background.   “It may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by You.”

“Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.

I feel a little like “Rip Van Winkle” who falls asleep in the Catskill Mountains and awakes 20 years later to a very changed world.

‘It’s time for the sleeper to wake

It’s time for the old winds to change

I hear the Spirit say it’s time.

Open up the windows

Let the light in

Open up the windows

Let the light in’.

I want to repeat what I said last week:   The most important thing right now is to be right with God.   And do this, understanding the present time:  “The hour has already come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. “  Romans 13:11

John 2:5-  “DO whatever he tells you”.

Jesus said:  “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me”.

Luke 5:5.  “Simon answered and said, ‘Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing, but I will do as You say and let down the nets’”.

“Nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.”

James 1:22 – “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says”.   Be doers” systematically and continually, as if this was your regular business.”

This is not an hour for complacency but creativity.   Listen to the Holy Spirit.

I heard two things:   God is looking for Worshippers …and He is looking for Followers.  BOTH change the atmosphere.

Ephesians 5:14 and following

Galatians 4:2 and following

Be prepared in season and out of season 2 Timothy 4:2. This means, “irrespective of your own convenience.”

DO whatever He tells you.  Your JOY depends on it.
