Perseverance
Sunday Sermon Take Away: Perseverance – Chuck Balik
Our lives are in actuality a short run. Ecclesiastes 2:3 asks “What is worthwhile to do during our brief lives?” Verse 25 “For without Him who can eat? What taste is there without Him?” Life takes on meaning only with Him.
Philippians 3:12 – …”I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” Our hearts become the landing pad of so many things that we need to constantly guard them, to continually release others from our hearts, to “forget what lies behind”.
We are in the Kingdom for this time, at this moment in history. This is an honour, and a blessing not a punishment. We have an assignment – to help people cross the finish line – to finish the race well. The mature do not get choked by the worries, riches and pleasures of this world. A mark of a believer is one who perseveres right to the end. He in us is forward moving.
Reminder – always stay connected to the Body. The Lord will offend our minds to make us intercessors, to help strengthen not weaken the Body.
Pray a prayer of surrender. It postures us for transformation.
